About

Why this site exists

Most personal finance content assumes a paycheck that repeats: the same amount, on the same day, every month. That assumption quietly shapes almost every popular rule of thumb — save a fixed percentage, budget a fixed amount, expect a fixed emergency fund size — and none of it holds up cleanly once your income actually moves.

The Freelance Floor is written for freelancers, contractors, and remote workers whose income is real, often good, but not the same size twice. The goal isn't to promise a shortcut to more income. It's to build financial systems — for saving, taxes, and cash flow — that hold up whether this month is a great one or a quiet one.

What you'll find here

Practical, specific articles rather than broad motivational advice. Each one is built around a repeatable system you can actually set up, not a mindset shift you're supposed to will into existence.

What this site isn't

The Freelance Floor isn't a substitute for a financial planner, accountant, or tax professional who knows your specific numbers. Think of it as the starting framework you bring into that conversation — not a replacement for it.
